About Standing For Truth and Justice
In response to a growing number of Anne Arundel County citizens alleging racially biased treatment by county police CAST was formed to respectfully demand greater accountability and transparency in the way the county conducts and handles citizen complaints. Community Actively Seeking Transparency (C.A.S.T.), together in partnership with the nonprofit For Kathy’s Sake, unites community families with concerns. Currently some of those concerns date back 10 years in the County. Group members, Rev. Marguerite Morris, Kristine Lockwood, Erica Scott (Front Left of Photo), Cj Meushaw, and DeAuntte Griffin-Dezurn, say their long term goal is to see an Anne Arundel County Civilian Review Board. Rev. Morris says that sadly many in our county deny this problem even exist. However we, like communities across this Nation, are not exempt from these challenges.

C.A.S.T. hosted its first forum on August 13, 2018, with support from various community leaders and other organizations such as the Baltimore Civilian Review Board (CRB), NAACP, ACLU, SURJ, and the Caucus of African American Leaders.
